Department Established in 1948
Brief Profile of the Department:    The Department of Physics came in to existence in year 1948 beginning with UG Classes. The then principal Late shri Rammitra Chaturvedi did relentless efforts to open PG department and after his twenty three years of efforts , it came in existence in 1971. Dr. S.L. Mor left no stone unturned to establish this department. In the beginning five students were admitted. Looking comprehensive benefit of students in take of students was increased up to ten. During that time (1973 onwards), in the field of electroluminencence research work was started. All necessary instruments required for this field was fabricated in the department itself. In this regard it is to specify that electro luminescent cell , its assembly power supply , AF amplifier, photomultiplier tube assembly, pecometer etc. were arranged in the department other accessories regarding this field like electronic switch, constant deviation spectrometer , spotgalvenometer , furnace , tharmostate , compressor controlled spray gun ,CRO ,photography instruments were also arranged. Looking facilities in the department Sagar university , Raipur University research scholars took the benefit of research facilities. Under the able guidance of Dr. Mor Dr. M.C. Awasthi (The then CSIR, JRF awardee ) started research work. Under his guidance Prof. S.S. Tiwari , Prof. H.S. Khare ,Prof. A.M. Rastogi registered themselves as research scholar. Later on Dr. A.M.
